San Felipe Trip 2

El Dorado Ranch, San Felipe, B.C., Mexico

Here are some of the photos from my trip to San Felipe. The following photos with the palm trees are views from the condo units closest to the water. All those condos are sold out, resales are already around $400k.

This is close to normal eye perspective. The beach is probably 1000 feet from the condo. The condo close to the water are nice because you can watch the activity on the beach. People walking, riding their atv's, playing on the beach, the water, the birds, etc. The interior of the condos are like the new homes in California - good quality if not better!

This show the famous twin mountains of San Felipe, I'm bad cuz I don't remember the name of those twin mountains, I promise you - I will know the next time I picture it. It's about 6 miles from El Dorado Ranch. Those palm trees are newly planted. The weather was kinda hazy like dry spring weather. Bay Area was wet when I left for San Felipe and when I got back and it was cold.

This is the same view with my 15mm Fisheye lens. The beach along El Dorado Ranch is lined with planted palm trees. San Felipe is not like Hawaii, it is not a tropical island. It's in a peninsula and it's a desert environment with desert plants and animals and sandy soil, mountains and the beautiful Sea of Cortes.

The Sea of Cortes is a huge body of water and I have not touched her or said hello up close - but I think she friendly and inviting - looks like a big lake hardly any waves, definitely not for surfers and I heard it is not for divers either. Fishing? Yes! World Class fishing they say, what ever that means - probably sailfish or marlin? Anyway, I have no idea what I would do with a sailfish or a marlin anyway. The sea winds are gentle and I think it blows at around 13 mph.

This is a view from one of the lots on one of the subdivisions. The soil is sandy here too and guess what's on the ground? Clam shells! How did those clam shells get there? The sea is about 1/2 mile downhill on a gradual slope of 4' lower every 100 feet.

I am showing an exaggerated picture because of the focal length of the lens I am using on my camera. The mountain in the background are not really that far away. The vista along the elevated foothills are very nice indeed. The sun sets towards the mountains and rises from the Sea of Cortes.

The vista from the foothills are awesomely beautiful. I was told that normally there are no clouds, just the blue sky. The roads are still being built in the subdivisions. Nice wide open spaces. I love that feeling! It's quiet and away from the noise of the freeways.

When it is winter in California it appears that San Felipe weather starts to change to a spring like weather that is cooler and still dry - 20 degrees warmer than the Bay Area in late November!

San Felipe is in a unique location and one of the benefits of San Felipe is its weather. It's in the desert yet it does not get too hot or too cold like Las Vegas or Arizona. Why? It's geographic location of course and the westerly wind are blocked bt the mountains along the peninsula and the Sea of Cortes keeps the peninsula from becoming too dry. There is not much easterly winds from mainland Mexico to create waves. The Sea of Cortes warms up in the summer time.

Hurricanes and tornadoes does not passed through San Felipe. Only hurricane Nora was able to reach San Felipe. Baja is also not an earthquake region and there is never a mention of earthquakes in Baja California.

The Sea of Cortes warms up during the summer, you can go swimming on the beach all summer long. What is kinda cool is that when you are on the beach in the morning you see the sun rise from the sea and the morning sun is good.

- Stay tuned and I'll be talking more about my San Felipe adventure. I have a lot of things that I need to do before I could actually start living there. I need to fix my house and get it ready to sell by June and I need to unload a lot of personal possessions and convert it to cash. And I need to create a corporation and setup my Freelance Photography, Travel Writing & Internet Marketing. I need to start building those businesses that I will be developing when I am in San Felipe.

- It's no rush and no stress - just plan accordingly. I want to start messing with different paradigms and different mind set. That is how I am getting where I am going in the first place.

- I am starting to learn how to use money to enhance my life. Starting now, by acting on the plan and manifesting the events and keeping the correct attitude and thoughts and focus. I have to start affecting the changes that I want in my life by having a vision and plans to achieve those goals that I have set for myself.

You gotta read the book "The Science of Getting Rich" in my blog. The book gives you the principles to practice manifesting riches in your life. I have changed my attitudes and focused on Creation rather than Competition.

San Felipe is not cheap, but it is affordable. It cost around $150k to $200k to build a nice 1,500 sq. ft. house in Baja, U.S building specs. That's like Arizona real estate prices. Las Vegas is around $250k to $300k.

I like visiting Las Vegas, but I do not think I really want to live there, the weather there is too extreme specially in the summer. Arizona is probably worst than Las Vegas and I don't want to see the Grand Canyon everyday anyways. San Diego is more inviting and I would like to explore that area - I definitely would like to do real estate investing in San Diego. Till next blog ...

San Felipe - El Dorado Ranch Trip

I could talk about my San Felipe Trip all day long! I had a great trip despite a few snags but regardless, I had fun and was glad that I went. I think San Felipe is an opportunity.

I see a town that is bustling and growing and locals that enjoys the effect of the dollars. I hear positive feedback from the others that bought property in San Felipe. It is definitely a bolder move than just investing in Real Estate in the States. Most people are not familiar with the El Dorado Ranch development or have been misinformed about buying and owning properties in Mexico and residing in Mexico. In my situation, it's Baja Mexico or B.C., Mexico.

As the word gets around more an more people will be migrating to Baja and retire and play in Mexico because it is affordable. But as we all know, the affordability factor rises when it becomes in demand and the supply is low. Prices goes up and the cost of living goes up also and becomes inflated. Later on property lots will become more and more expensive. So going in early, you pay cheaper prices. When the developement becomes sold out the next one will be more expensive. As the community becomes populated the need for services are supported so it creates opportunities to create a thriving businesses supported by the people in the community, theres money being brought and spent in Mexico.

So, in summary, I loved San Felipe and the more I hang out there the more I see the things that I could be doing there. There's plenty of activities waiting for me in San Felipe.

There are also opportunities for businesses to start in San Felipe that the Americans need, that the city needs. It's a city that is growing and developing into a tourist attraction. The local are enjoying the fruits of their labors, they have nicer cars and can afford to even have American toys like Quads - they love the Americans and their dollars!

I bought a property at the El Dorado Ranch Development for $40k! I can build a house here from $75 to $110. per sq. ft. The lot size is 10k sq. ft. I did not even see this particular lot. My nephew said it was his favorite. The other lots are being bought by the other visitors and they are usually the bigger irregular lots that are more expensive. The $40k lots are practically all gone.

Endless Summer

November is the start of the cold weather here in the Bay Area. It's November 11th and normally here in the Bay Area it starts to get cold - really fast. One week before or or after Halloween the weather starts to change. It starts to become chilly in the mornings and evenings. It is nice in the daytime, when it is still warm and sunny. Cold, cloudy rainy days usually follows - boring weather!

I dread the fall and winter seasons - it sucks! I'm a warm blooded person and I get very sluggish in cold weather. I get depressed when I don't get enough sun and brightness. I am not fond of the rain either. Rain is nice when I am sleeping, not when I want to be outside.

San Felipe temperature is better in November! Hawaii has the best! Imagine, people in the Bay Area are wearing jackets and turning on the heaters in the mornings and evenings - while if I am enjoying warm summer weather in in San Felipe or Hawaii, endless summers. I can imagine that in November 2007, one year from now, I will not be here in the Bay Area!

Ideal temperature for me is 75-85 F and I can deal with that 365 days a year! I can deal with the cold weather if I am just visiting or vacationing and will last no more that 1 week. Yeah, Lake Tahoe in the spring is beautiful when the days are warm and there's still snow everywhere. I am no longer a fan of skiing or snowboarding, those sports no longer excite me. I have to be careful with my left knee because I injured it long time ago and re-injury is not a good thing - I need my mobility. I miss ice skating! I want to do that this year with my daughter, she's 16! My sweet sixteen daughter!

I'm excited in visiting San Felipe in the next few weeks.

I will be flying from Livermore airport to San Felipe on Thanksgiving weekend. That will be on November 25th and the 26th.

Too bad I will be working on Friday after Thanksgiving, but it will probably be a half day work. The following week I will be on vacation for one week! Coolio!

Well, what is there to expect? A 4 hr. flight from Livermore direct flight on a DC3 to San Felipe. All inclusive, food accomodations, tour and entertainment.

My nephew and his buddies will be going there also on their Harley. They will probably leave on Friday. They need to be in San Felipe by 10 or 11 am on Saturday - 11/25.

It's going to happen in two weeks! I'm excited!
